80% paved, 80% Rail trail tour

Ohio River to Lake Erie Rail Trail

Our longest tour of the summer!

We have two brand new traffic-free rail trail tours this year, and the Ohio to Erie Trail (OTET) is instantly our longest duration tour at 8-days/7-nights and the longest distance tour, roughly 330 miles from Cincinnati to Cleveland. This tour is about 80% paved rail trail, with some gravel riding in the Cuyahoga National Park, plus a few miles of county roads in Amish country near Akron.

Guest Health and Safety

All our tours will operate using our Company Safety Plan. We wrote this plan for the 2020 Covid season, and it has become integral to our tours. Our goal is to provide a safe tour experience for our guests, our staff, and all our lodging and dining partners along the route.

Traffic-free Rail Trail focus for 2025

Changes in infrastructure across the region, and improvements in trail systems have helped us locate the best rail-trails for your enjoyment. No tour will ever be 100% traffic-free, but we’re coming as close as we can. This tour offers the longest total distance on rail trails, with the added bonus of being mostly paved!

Let’s Hit the Road!

After your arrival in Cleveland on Saturday afternoon, we’ll enjoy a tour dinner out plus a guest safety & swag orientation meeting. All bikes will be loaded and locked into our sag truck on Saturday night, in preparation for the early departure and your motor coach ride to Cincinnati. After you dip your rear tire in the Ohio River on Sunday afternoon, we’ll enjoy a 33-mile ride to Kings Island.

On across Ohio!

Each day this week we work our way across the state, with overnight stops in Cedarville, Columbus, Mount Vernon, Millersburg, and Akron, before returning to Cleveland about 1 p.m. on Saturday!

Help Identify Our Favorite Dinner Tour Stop

This June is our inaugural ride on the Ohio to Erie Trail. Given this, we have to identify our favorite dinner place on the route. There will be tour dinners on 3 nights, and Dutch-treat on 4 nights. We’ll love your input on the best places to eat!

How it Breaks Down:

Don’t be feeling overwhelmed by the thought of biking 330 miles! We’ve broken down into manageable legs! In addition to our daily itinerary, you’ll have daily printed maps & cue sheets, plus electronic maps from Ride with GPS, to run on your smartphone or bike computer.
